Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

One of the biggest Cinco de Mayo festivals in the country takes place right in Anaheim. The 5 de Mayo Festival began as a small gathering in the 1970s and has blossomed into a four-day event with over 100,000 attendees. When Cinco de Mayo falls on a Saturday, it’s a full weekend of folkloric dancing, mariachi bands, and of course the best Mexican cuisine north of the border.

It all takes place at La Palma Park Thursday – Sunday with a carnival and non-stop entertainment. Tour the many Mexican food trucks peppered around the park, and don’t forget to check out the massive soccer festival. From May 3 – 6, soccer teams go head to head for the title of Fiesta Champion.

Heat Things Up

The family-friendly fiesta has remained alcohol-free for decades. It’s fun for all, and where annual scholarships are announced for local schools. Eating contests, face painting, fair rides, and much more await. World-class performers take to the stage throughout the weekend, making every day unique.

The area can get crowded, so it’s a good idea to take a car share or taxi from your Anaheim hotel. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo like a local, and in great company.
