Disneyland Happenings

Spring is in the air and the Happiest Place on Earth is even more joyful with special events planned throughout May. Bats Day takes place the first weekend in May and has park visitors dressing up in their best goth, steampunk, rockabilly, Halloween, and ghostly gear for the antithesis of Dapper Day. This unofficial Disneyland event is organized by fans, with Meetups planned around the park. Check local Meetup groups for more information and get creative with your dark side.

Grad Nights are also popping up all over the park in May and June. Another unofficial Disneyland phenomenon, it’s the time of year when graduating seniors flock to the park for high school night celebrations. After 9 p.m., independent parties move to California Adventure or stick around for special organized outings. Check the Disneyland Calendar for information on Grad Nights for 2018.

Light on Your Toes

The Tinkerbell Half Marathon weekend also takes place in May. If you’re headed to Anaheim to fly through the park like Tinkerbell, trust that it’s all possible with “a little bit of faith, trust, and pixie dust.” The 13.1 mile challenge is a bucket list item for many, and a marathon training run for others.

If the Tinkerbell Half Marathon is on your list, keep in mind that there’s also a kids’ race, 5k, and 10k option. However, others come to the event just for the Pasta in the Park Party! Carbo-load before or after your run, or simply cheer the runners on and indulge in some serious Disneyland magic (straight from Mickey’s kitchen).
