The Anaheim area offers many ways to pay homage to those who gave their all in service. The Anaheim Cemetery Memorial Day program includes three cemeteries: The Anaheim Cemetery, Santa Ana Cemetery, and El Toro Memorial Park. Each features a special Memorial Day program starting at 11 a.m. including a gun salute and placing of the wreaths.
In nearby Yorba Linda, you can celebrate Memorial Day at the Nixon Library. Starting at 11 a.m., the ceremony includes remarks by military leaders. There will be a presentation of the colors and performance by the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band. Following the wreath laying, a free concert featuring patriotic music begins at noon.
A Day of Remembrance
In San Clemente, the Memorial Day event at the Community Center starts at 11 a.m. Located at 100 N. Calle Seville, the city invites everyone to gather together in remembrance of fallen soldiers. Free and open to the public, it includes keynote speakers, bagpipers playing patriotic music, and a floral ceremony.
In Laguna Hills, the annual Memorial Day Half Marathon takes place in the early morning hours—giving you plenty of time to enjoy a mid-day ceremony. In honor of the US Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion, the yearly run features a gorgeous route as well as a 5k and 10k option. How will you be spending the long weekend?
