Muzeo engages the community in celebrating and exploring the city’s diverse heritage, arts, and cultures through creative programs, permanent exhibitions, and seasonally rotating exhibitions. This cultural center presents many artifacts, artists, and crafts that celebrate human expression and diversity and tell important history.
ANAHEIM: A WALK THROUGH LOCAL HISTORY
Before the creation of the Muzeo Museum in 2007, the historical ‘Anaheim: A walk through Local History’ exhibition was curated by the Anaheim museum. The historic 1908 Carnegie Library houses this exhibition, among other artifacts highlighting Anaheim’s history and the surrounding area. The exhibition’s artifacts range from fossil findings to ancient Indian sites to citrus farming tools and 19th Century winery, along with display cases filled with Anaheim and Orange County’s past treasures. This exhibition has a unique collection of the once city’s founders’ and leaders’ items, as well as a Disneyland and Anaheim Stadium memorabilia collection.
CARNEGIE LIBRARY
This 1908 library is located in Anaheim, California, and it is the only remaining public library financed by Andrew Carnegie left standing in Orange County. It was a public library up until 1963. It served as the personnel office for the City of Anaheim in the 1970s and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Carnegie Library is now one of Muzeo’s buildings.
ANAHEIM HERITAGE CENTER
The Anaheim Heritage Center is part of the Anaheim Public Library system and is located next to Muzeo’s Main Gallery. This Heritage Center opened its doors in 1967 and features nearly a million items cataloged for use by students, researchers, and scholars. Trained library personnel are available to offer assistance.
