Nothing ruins a good time like an accident. Stay safe this Halloween and enjoy trick-or-treating with your friends with these Halloween safety tips.
– Always trick-or-treat in a group. It is never a good idea to head out alone. Always make sure you have at least one buddy with you at all times.
– Keep in mind that you should never enter a house or a car for a treat, no matter how tempting.
– Carry a cell phone for emergencies and know where you are so you can relay your location to any authorities.
– After dark, it is hard for drivers to see pedestrians. Carry a flashlight and/or glow sticks. Reflective tape on costumes is a good idea as well. Cross the street at designated cross walks, especially after dark.
– Avoid alleyways and dimly lit areas where ghouls and goblins could be hiding.
– If your teenagers are going out without adults, be sure to review the route they are taking and/or the neighborhoods they will be visiting. Designate a time when they should check in and return home.
– Kids, if you are out without parents and will be late getting home, call to let them know where you are and when you will be home.
As always, make wise decisions and have a safe and happy Halloween!
